CV
Michael Green is a painter, printmaker, and architectural designer who resides in Pasadena, California. Mr. Green was raised in Iowa and is the son of two prominent Norwegian folk artists. At an early age he expressed interest in painting and was taught how to paint by his mother Ruth Green, while his father Dennis showed him the ways of drafting, construction, and wood turning. Throughout his early years he continued to draw and paint and had his first solo show in 1991 at the Cliff House in Decorah, Iowa. While attending high school he enrolled at Luther College part time to continue with his fine art studies. Later he relocated to Iowa City to attend the University of Iowa and study etching and relief printing under Virginia Myers.

In 1997 Mr. Green started a professional music career with his grindcore band Burmese ultimately relocating to San Francisco in 1999. Over the next 14 years Michael continued to make music, tour, paint, print and do design work for local musicians.

In 2015 Michael relocated to Los Angeles, California where he continued relief printing and fully returned to painting, which continues to the present day. His work has dealt with subjects such as the Doomsday Clock, environmental catastrophe, the bicycle community, religion, and consumer worship. Much of his work is through Regionalist Inspired landscape commissions and album cover art.
